Eligibility Requirements for NLPNP Skilled Worker Stream

• You must be working full-time or
• You must have a full-time job offer from an authorized employer in Newfoundland and Labrador province for at least two years.
• You must prove your earnings via salary and benefits packages according to the provincial employment standards and ongoing wage rates.
• You are NOT eligible if you have a contractual or temporary position with less or no extension possibility.
• You must have a legitimate work permit with a minimum of 4 months remaining when applying.
• You must show the desire and capability to live in the province.
• You must show adequate settlement funds and financial assets for residing in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Language Proficiency:

You must furnish legitimate proof of English or French proficiency that any of the following testing organisations should corroborate:

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for English; or
• Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) for English; or
• Test d’Evaluation de Français (TEF) for French.

Application Process for Newfoundland and Labrador Skilled Worker Stream

The Newfoundland and Labrador Skilled Worker Stream accepts applications 24×7, 365 days. If you are eligible for this program, then:

1. Submit a Complete Application: You need to submit a complete application.
2. Pay the Application Fees: You must pay the application fees of $250 CAD.
3. Provincial Nomination: You will get a provincial nomination from Newfoundland and Labrador, if you succeed.
4. Federal Application for Permanent Residence: You will have 6 months to put in a federal application for permanent residence in Canada, upon nomination.
5. Submit the Application for Permanent Residence: You need to submit the application for permanent residence in a paper-based format by mail to the designated application centre.
6. Processing Time: Your paper-based PNP applications will typically be processed within 18 months.
