Eligibility Requirements for SINP International Skilled Worker Category
There are five sub-categories under this provincial immigration category:
Applications will be processed in the order they are received in each category. The SINP maintains the right to prioritize applications to satisfy the strategic priorities of the Government of Saskatchewan. For two sub-categories, SINP Occupation In-Demand and Saskatchewan Express Entry, the SINP uses an Expression of Interest System.
How are SINP Applications Assessed?
If you are applying for the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Category Expression of Interest (EOI), your application will be assessed according to the five components:
- Education and Training
- Skilled Work Experience
- Language Ability
- Age
- Adaptability and Connection to the Saskatchewan Labour Market
The total score in the SINP EOI pool is 110 points, and you need to score at least 60.

Factor 1: Education and Training
The first factor is your education and job training, and you will score points according to your documented proof of your education and training programs from a nationally or Saskatchewan-recognized institution or regulatory body.

Factor 2: Skilled Work Experience
You must provide documented proof of your skilled work experience (NOC 0, 1, 2 or designated trade) in your intended employment in the previous ten years. Two points and one point are awarded for each of your work experiences in the most recent five years and each year in the six- to ten-year period before applying, respectively.
You need to show one year of full-time work experience. If you have part-time work experience, that will also be considered if it is paid work and your intended occupation. You must furnish a reference letter from your manager or Human Resources department.

Factor 3: Language Ability
You must demonstrate the required score in Canada’s official English or French language test. You must furnish proof of language in the form of official results of a recent SINP-approve language test IELTS, Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) and Test d’evaluation de francais (TEF).

Your connection to the Saskatchewan labour market and your ability to become financially independent and settle in the province will also give you a score.
