Partnering Communities for OINP Regional Immigration Pilot
These communities are evaluated based on the availability of socio-economic infrastructures in the area for newcomer settlement. One specific feature is that the Pilot works within the existing Employer Job Offer streams of OINP and does not have a separate set of criteria for the pilot.
Three partnering communities have participated in the new Ontario Regional Immigration Pilot:
- The communities of Chatham-Kent
- The communities of Belleville and Quinte West
- The communities of the City of Cornwall
These partnering communities were selected based on the interest of community stakeholders and their well-defined features in terms of regional diversity, labour market challenges for skilled workers, and the region’s potential to adapt quickly to newcomers.
